“Family at Ease” Mental Health Programme on Youth (Counselling)
Partner:
Breakthrough
Period:
October 2013 – September 2016
Beneficiaries:
Young people and their families
“Family at Ease” uses the family unit as the foundation to promote mental health in young people. The project consists of two areas: the counselling area combines professional counselling with Christian faith to tackle emotional problems and build positive characters in young people; the education area strengthens the understanding and bonding between young people and their parents so that the family can act as a safe haven during times of adversity.
Professional counselors meet with teenagers, sometimes together with their parents, to help them cope with crises and to strengthen their bond with their families. The Breakthrough counselling aims to solve emotional problems in the long run instead of providing a quick fix. The support from CPF makes this service affordable.
Project Feedback
By God’s bountiful grace, Breakthrough started the “Family at Ease” program in 2013. Through the generosity of CPF, our team has been able to provide young people and their parents highly professional counselling and support. Although Hong Kong is facing with many challenges, we are most blessed to have a partner like CPF, who share the same vision and passion, in serving the community. Together we shall stand firm as God’s faithful steward and commit the loving gifts to the best use.

Feedback from Participant
It’s great to be able to share with someone who is impartial and yet able to see all sides of the issue at hand. Thanks to that, I am able to adapt better to those around me and am able to evaluate myself and the world from a much clearer & more efficient position.
