We believe that mental healthiness is very important to child development. However, how to maintain the mental health of children? We chose to sponsor additional social service at St. Paul’s Co-Educational College (SPCC) and Primary School. By using our funding, social workers from St. James’ Settlement were provided to SPCC and various social work services were held by the school to improve their mental healthiness.

Here are some details of different social service held by using our funding.

The major social work activity including Big Brother Big Sister (BBBS), Play Sharing Service (PSP), Play Sharing Service II (PSPII) and Life Connection Mentorships Program (LCM). Higher form student would be in charged to taking care of a lower form student in the program BBBS. During this activity, students could learn how to care other, especially during the Easter picnic and the after exam fun day held by BBBS. We believe children improve through the activities and events.

PSP was specialized for F.1 students, which might not be good at interpersonal skills. They were required to participants in various activities, such as orienteering activity and war game. It was hoped that they could develop their interpersonal skills and own competence with joy.

By meantime, PSPII was designed for F.2 students. It was a continue practice of PSP. Students were hoped to further develop their skills and keep practicing when they need to cooperate with each other during the activities.

LCM was one of the newest activities of the SPCC school social work service. They provided volunteer services, visits to places, game groups and talks for students.

We are glad that our funding can help children to develop mental healthiness in a specialized way and we are happy to continue sponsor St. Paul’s Co-Educational College and Primary School. We hope that Students we gave a hand would stay healthy mentally and have a brighter future.
