Community Partner Foundation (CPF) is honoured to have supported the Centre on Behavioral Health at the University of Hong Kong to arrange a thought-provoking series of lectures and workshops on holistic therapy in 2012 and 2013. In total, the centre organized 12 public lectures, 20 professional training courses and 2 symposiums, attracting over 2,500 people in total. Both locally and internationally renowned experts were invited to share their knowledge and experience in holistic therapy and alternative approaches to healing.

The aim of the lecture series – which was named in memory of Mr. Danny D.B. Ho, who passed away in 2011 – is to raise awareness and promote a better understanding of holistic therapy among health professionals and the general public, especially through its emphasis on mind-body balance, which nicely complements conventional approaches to medicine.

The 2013 Symposium, named “No Beginning and No End: Well-Being in the Present Moment” was held on 14 November, 2013 at the Grand Hall of the University of Hong Kong. The keynote speakers, Carol Cox and Dr Yasuyuki Nemoto, led talks on the theoretical concept of the Holistic Round of Formation and the amazing effect of love and gratitude of the shape of water crystals.

Based on feedback from speakers and participants, the general public and professionals alike greatly benefited from the lecture and workshops, taking with them life-long skills they can use in their daily lives and to help others in their community.

Project Feedback

Thanks to Centre on Behavioral Health and the support from the Ho’s family and Community Partner Foundation, I was able to introduce these ideas to the community through a public seminar and two workshops. Needless to say, I was thrilled to see the turn out and the response of the participants, which far exceeded my expectations. The seeds have been sown. I sincerely hope that they be allowed to germinate and flourish, and make the world a better place.
