FOODLINK FOOD DELIVERY
Partner:
Foodlink Foundation
Project Period:
1 November, 2013 — 31 October, 2014
Beneficiaries:
People in need
Established in 2001, Foodlink taps into Hong Kong’s ample resources in an effort to mitigate hunger in the city by arranging regular deliveries of safe-to-eat surplus food from various food outlets to those in need – including homeless people living in shelters and on the street, the elderly, the unemployed, and other disenfranchised individuals and families.
Since November 2013, Community Partner Foundation (CPF) has supported the running costs of one of Foodlink’s vans. Surplus food is collected from various donors, such as hotels and restaurants. To ensure freshness of the food, all collected food is stored in special containers and then transferred to refrigerated vans for delivery to different NGOs.
