We have provided some financial support for the St. Paul’s Co-educational College to enhance their social worker service. We are impressed by the events and programs organized by the social workers for the students, so as to help them to develop mental healthiness.
On 26th July 2013, Shum Shui Po Night Tour was organized for the students. It was a special experience to them as the majority have never been to Shum Shui Po before. At the beginning, the students were required to finish some checkpoint missions. Daily necessity, food coupons and some dry food would be bought during the mission and later distributed to the needy as the gifts. After the missions, students were divided into 2 groups to visit the homeless. They have had some interviews with them, in order to have a closer look into the life and the difficulties of the basic course in Hong Kong.
We are glad that this night tour was successful. The students who were in the programs reflected that they could experience the hardness and difficulties of the homeless directly. We wish that the students can learn more about the life of the needy and understand that everyone in the society has the responsibility to help the poverty.
